“No one really understands what impact floods have on the communities whose families have seen total destruction.”
“Leaving would break me - but where would I go if this is home?”

We are working alongside local arts organisation GoCreate Art to amplify the thoughts, hopes and fears of the community of Taunton about the impact of climate change.
There has been lots of sessions with the public, which has produced art, ideas and ASKS! Art from the community sessions has been painted on benches across Taunton and a beautiful mural on the library finished too.
By wielding public art created by community members of all ages, emphasising future generations framing, in particular, through art expressing childrens’ visions of the future, the project has grown the community’s sense of ownership for its future.
The work of WeAreHere Taunton has enormously enhanced the visual landscape of the town, which is now rich throughout with climate artwork that resonates and invites greater participation, acting as a catalyst for changemaking.
