A Women’s Manifesto

for Just Neighbourhoods

For presentation to Andy Burnham in his first 100 days of office as a petition from women and women's organisations across England with six 'threads' that women want to see 'stitched together' into the 'national policy fabric'

Power

New policies and approaches to protect and strengthen residents rights to shape their own local area, repealing recent anti-democratic local planning reforms that remove the right to speak at Planning committee, devolved infrastructure funding to neighbourhood boards/forums/assemblies.

Homes

Decent, affordable, secure, well insulated, healthy homes focused on actual needs and highest need not "what developers want" and "rightsizing".

Health

Address the mental health emergency; community-based affordable nutritious food; services tailored to diverse needs and our ageing population.

Clean and Green

Clean air; biodiversity; space to grow; community energy; cool spaces; warm spaces.

Youth and Play

Safe outdoor and indoor spaces and facilities designed by young people, new training and employment opportunities, support for care leavers.

Sanctuary

Spaces, homes, and support for the most vulnerable & marginalised: homeless, survivors, SEND/disabled, women & children fleeing violence & war.
